A person from the modern world, he suddenly finds himself in the games world just in time to save Himiko from bandit, an act for which he was nicknamed "The Servant of Heaven." He has knowledge from the modern day, but little to no memory of his former life. Dispite his nervousness at fighting, he decides to assist Himiko in her dreams of conquest through fighting, which he takes lessons early on from Yamoto-Takeru, and through administration. As he is trained by Yamoto, she eventually entrusts him with the Kusanagi, the sword of the ruler of Zipang.
After the conquest of Zipang is complete, the collected heroes return to Yamatai to find Yamato's betrayal. As she attacks Himiko, the Protagonist protects the shrine maiden, allowing him to unlock the power of the Kusanagi. Due to this, he is given the title of king by the group and from that point leads the army in conquest of the remaining world.
